Someday, I”ll go back to school.
Someday, I’ll look for a better job.
Someday, I’ll take a vacation.
Someday, we’ll have that family reunion.
Someday, I’ll pick back up my painting, my singing, my playing a musical instrument.
Someday, I’ll exercise regularly and be healthy.
Someday, I’d like to start my own business.
Someday, I’d like to write a book.
Someday, I’ll find a way to market my invention.
Someday, I’ll be able to quit my job and stay home with my kids.
Someday, if it doesn’t get better, I’ll leave him.
Someday, I’ll stand up to that overbearing family member and finally tell them what I think.
Someday, I’ll get some help for my alcoholism, my depression, my addiction.
Someday is a dangerous word, because, for most people, that someday will not come.
Someday is code for NEVER.

Disclaimer- while the concept of this post had been in my mind for a while, my husband I saw Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, and Cruise used this line in the movie, and I loved it! Great movie, by the way, even though I am not so much a Cruise fan anymore!
It is important that you don’t wait til someday to do the things you really want to do.Ā It is important that you make plans to accomplish those things that you truly do want to do.
I will have some upcoming posts talking about this very thing, the process of deciding “what DO I want to do, and how can I make it happen?”
So what about you,
what are the things YOU are gonna do,
SOMEDAY?

Wow love that poem. I know I say about 5-7 of them all the time. Need to work on that! Will be looking forward to more posts on this š I need to stop saying someday! Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks! I look forward to sharing more!
Thanks for pointing out something that we all know, but never consciously think about! I need to change my ‘somedays’ into plans.
~LeMorgon
I think maybe we should be more choosy with our words. We may say “wouldn’t it be awesome to go on a 7 day cruise?” and change our somedays at LEAST into ‘one day soon, I plan to… ‘ And then make those plans!
Thanks for visiting!
I’m gulity of this too. The good news is, I can cross “Someday I’ll start my own blog” now!
I made my own “vision” board. If I catch myself saying “Someday….” I then find a picture in a magazine (or where-ever) and glue it to my vision board. It keeps me accountable! Although, I still haven’t built a pool in my backyard or become proficient at Bikram Yoga, but someday………
Great Post! I have a whole list of someday’s as well. I don’t like them because It is me hoping it will happen. We are in the process of making those someday’s realities.
Thanks for stopping by Peek at My Paper and linking up!
Hope you have a great weekend.

Wow that is so so true! What a wake up call! Now this is one post that I like reading vs. the endless self blog promotions or giveaways!
Thank you!
Bernice this is so perfect! I have always been a firm believer in doing what you want to do and not over analyze it all. I don’t want to die with any regrets or remorse for not doing something I truly wanted to do.
Follow your gut and your dreams!
Thanks for posting!
Bernice you need a share button on the blog, because I would share this.
I’m looking forward to how you explore this topic some more. I like expressmom’s vision board idea. I want to make one! I’ve been wanting to for a while, but I think I’m worried that once it is in place I’ll actually have to start doing something to get there! Someday I’ll make that vision board and set my goals in place. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I really like that blog…someday is procrastination. Good article!
I absolutely love this post. It is most certainly moving, and resonates with so many of us! We’re all so bogged down with the day to day grind, but as you’ve so beautifully laid out, someday is not the answer, because there might not be a someday. Absolutely inspiring!
I seriously loved this post, because it is so true.

Someday really is a dangerous word. When I say it, I keep thinking that the day will never come because I am too afraid, scared to fail, or unsure about how I will go about those somedays.
My main somedays are
1. Someday I will go back to school
2. Someday I will have my own day care
3. Someday I will lose weight(although technically on a diet with the girls at work)
4. Someday I will finish writing my book
The Somdays are the things we wish for and hope for. We all need to make them a reality.
Thanks for the reminder, SITS-er… Great post!

For most people, that someday will not come true.
Why not try your best to make it true then?
It’s not negative to make “someday” statements.
It actually helps people want to make that someday come true.
Someday, I’ll perish. That day will come.
